Agriculture and Natural Resources Conservation

Our Agriculture and Natural Resource Conservation Program, which originated as an initiative from the USDA, addresses the challenges facing agricultural lands today. In Florida, the program focuses on Hispanic farmers and landowners with livestock-grazed pastures. These landowners are invited to participate in a fruit tree and commodity planting initiative designed to sequester—capture and hold—carbon in the soil. Target sites are carefully selected based on high levels of livestock activity and grazing, ensuring maximum impact on soil health and sustainability.

Forest Management

Asekia partners with farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners across diverse ecosystems, from the mountains of northern New Mexico to the tropical forests of Puerto Rico. Through personalized visits, interactive workshops, and accessible bilingual materials on forest conservation, we empower communities to embrace sustainable agriculture and forest management practices that protect and enhance their land.

Toolkit

In collaboration with the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Center for Heirs’ Property Preservation, this initiative focuses on enhancing outreach to underserved landowners in the southeastern United States. Stay tuned for updates as we work to provide impactful resources and support!
