About

This toolkit is the result of a collaborative effort aimed at supporting state forestry agencies and natural resource professionals to reach and engage with more landowners in emerging communities. The work was initiated by the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities, which convened the partners, including Asekia, the Center for Heirs’ Property, the Greening Youth Foundation, Help for Landowners, and NCSU College of Natural Resources. With facilitation support from Welsummer, these partners worked together over the course of more than a year to distill their extensive experience and expertise into a practical, accessible suite of tools. In addition, other contributors generously shared their insights through interviews, listening sessions, and writing support. Their perspectives and contributions significantly shaped and strengthened the final product.
